Essence of Noir is a 2024 award-winning wine room and bar renovation completed by Bercum Builders, the trusted custom home builder Kelowna homeowners turn to for high-end interior transformations. What began as an underused storage space became a fully climate-controlled wine room holding 840 bottles, paired with a bar seating area, integrated fridges, and a display wall for whiskey. The defining feature, a curved-glass arch entry into the wine room, was inspired when our clients toured a previous Bercum build and asked us to bring that detail home. The result is a sophisticated modern entertaining space designed for family and friends to gather over wine and whiskey. The project earned a national silver medal and a regional Okanagan award.
