Cypress Hill is a major whole-home renovation completed by Bercum Builders in Coldstream, in the North Okanagan just outside Vernon. As a Vernon custom home builder with deep roots across the region, our team took on a project that began with a simple request, more kitchen space for a growing family, and grew into a transformative renovation. Three-quarters of the roof came off, three dormers were reframed to match the existing garage, a mid-landing floor was opened up at the fireplace, and all new exterior windows were installed. The footprint stayed the same; the home itself was reborn. The biggest technical challenges were keeping the house weatherproof while the roof was off and supporting the structure during window installation so it didn’t collapse during reframing. The standout achievement: visually tying the garage and the house together so seamlessly it looks original.
